Alice Louise Vinson, age 88 of Liberty, passed away on July 10. 2014 at Fairy’s Landing Facility in Hull.  Alice was born May 15, 1926 in Liberty, daughter of the late Ernest Wiggins Sr and Lou Wiggins.  She graduated from Liberty High School in 1943 and then went on and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education, Masters of Science Degree in Elementary Education and Masters of Arts in Counseling from Lamar University in Beaumont.  Alice worked as a teacher for one year at the Immaculate Conception Catholic School and then went on to work at Liberty Junior High as a teacher and then as a counselor at that same school.  She was a member of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas, Libertad Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Liberty County Association for Retired Teachers and the Joy Club at the First Baptist Church in Liberty.  Alice enjoyed anything that had to do with sports but mostly enjoyed her children and grandchildren.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents, husband; Richard Vinson, brothers; Ernest Wiggins Jr, and  Alvin Wiggins, sister; Elsie Wiggins.  She leaves behind to cherish her memory her son; Richard Vinson and wife Angela of Liberty, daughter; Laurie Elliott and husband Steve of Liberty, grandchildren; Miller Elliott, Michael Elliott, Rendell “Ren” Vinson, and  Macie Vinson.
