Burl Eldridge Johnson, age 85 of Liberty, went to be with the Lord on March 20, 2014 in Liberty, TX with his loving family by his side.  Burl was born January 29, 1929 in Lufkin, TX son of the late Otis and Cordie Weaver Johnson.  He attended Hardin High School and worked for Texas Workover for fifty years as a welder, roughneck and mechanic.  Burl enjoyed woodworking, playing with his remote control cars, fishing but mostly loved dancing with the love of his life, Delores.  He was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Burl was preceded in death by his parents, son; Kenneth Burl Johnson, daughter; Terry Lin Johnson and a brother; C.D. Johnson.  He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of sixty-six years; Delores Rose Johnson of Liberty, daughter; Barbara Nugent and husband Frank of Hardin, TX, grandchildren; Stacie Nugent, Tracie Litton, Kim Johnson, and Bubba Shanks, great-grandchildren; Kody, Destiney, Roy, and Paige, nephew; Darrell Johnson and wife Penny of Moss Hill, and a niece; Belinda Johnson of Hardin.
