Clem Cantania -age 87 passed away peacefully Tuesday June 17, 2014. Clem was born March 5, 1927 in Liberty the son of the late Margarito Cantania and Edna Melonson Cantania. He loved to work in his garden and truly had a green thumb. Clem could work and fix anything. He worked for over fifty years for Brown & Root as a laborer. Clem was a veteran of the US Army serving for four years. He also was an active member of Our Mother of Mercy Church in Ames. Clem was preceded in death by his parents as well as his beloved wife Dorenia Cantania and a sister Alma Semien. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, extended family and friends. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. The family would like to thank the staff at Liberty Healthcare and professional hospice. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11AM for Clem Tuesday June 24, 2014 at Our Mother of Mercy Church in Ames. Rosary services to be held at 10AM with visitation to be held from 9-10AM all at the church. Burial will immediately follow the funeral mass in Our Mother of Mercy Cemetery in Ames.
