David Ernest Tanner, age 80 of Liberty, passed away at his residence on December 23, 2015 with his loving family by his side. David was born May 18, 1935 in Hardin, TX, son of the late Ernest Tanner and Grace Owens Tanner. He graduated from Hardin High School and was a millwright for Mobil Chemical for twenty-five plus years before retiring. He also served in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1957. David loved the outdoors especially hunting and fishing. His children and grandchildren were the love of his life. It was also said that David never met a friend of his children that they didn’t call him Daddy. He will be missed dearly. David was preceded in death by his parents, wife; Louetta Tanner, son; David Stewart Tanner, daughter; Lura Jane Hanks, and grandparents; Dave Anderson Tanner and Martha Francis Tanner. He leaves behind to cherish his memory; daughters; Diane Horton and husband Steve, Martha Sue Neve and husband Don, sons; James Leroy Williams, Bruce Tanner and wife Cindy, grandchildren; Chad Hanks and wife Kaitlynn, Jamie Williams, Josh Parsons, Donny Neve, Ciara Tanner, Brittany Stavinaha and husband Jared, Cassi Albro and husband Danny, Codi McGowan, Emily Tanner, Jamie Neve, Thomas Moseley, Andy Tanner, David C. Neve, Donald Hunt, Joshua Hunt, Kaitlyn Chavez, and twenty-one great-grandchildren.
