Ellen (Jo) Willoughby, 98, went to be with the Lord on September 24, 2016, surrounded by her family.  She leaves to cherish her memory her three sons and their families, Mike and wife Kay, Gary and wife Linda and Pete. Grandchildren are Wendi, Ellen, Jill (Norm), Julie (Kevin), Suzanne (Donald), Robert, Amy (Jay), and Becky (JJ). Fifteen great-grandchildren brought her so much joy- Jack, Mollie, Cooper, Annie, Taylor, Gavin, Kyle, Josh, Kaylie, Macy, Luke, Loren, Sydney, Baxter and Casey. Other family members include numerous nieces and nephews. Known as “Mimi” to many, she was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Liberty where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. She also volunteered in the schools by reading to young children. She is preceded in death by her husband C.M. Willoughby Jr.; and daughter-in-law Jo Beth Willoughby. The family would especially like to express their gratitude to Dr. Don Callens and the staff at the Liberty Dayton Medical Center for providing such wonderful care.  Special thanks to Megan from Gentiva Hospice for her care and compassion during Mimi’s final days. Mimi’s family finds comfort knowing she was greeted in heaven with love and told well-done, good and faithful servant.  As an expression of sympathy, contributions may be made to the Liberty First United Methodist Church or to the Jo Beth Willoughby Teaching Grant through the Liberty ISD Education Foundation.
