Rosalie Briscoe- age 91 passed away peacefully Sunday,  June 15, 2014, in her home surrounded by her family. Rosalie was born in Raywood, Texas, October 25, 1922 the daughter of the late Phillip Broussard and Blanche Bobineaux Broussard. She was an obedient daughter, a caring sister, and a dedicated mother. Above all else, she loved the Lord, her family and her home.  Rosalie enjoyed working on Jigsaw puzzles, reading, cooking, and listening to music. A mother to everyone, she will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Rosalie was a homemaker and was a devoted member of her church Our Mother of Mercy in Ames. She was preceded in death by her parents as well as her brothers; Claude, Warren, Alvin, Peter, and Allen Broussard; sisters; Audrey Donatto and Doris, Bernice, and Melva Broussard; daughter Jane Couch and a son Charles Briscoe. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, Quan “Joan” Walker and her husband Les, Joyce Marchand, Donna Rose Young and husband Russell, Isbell Briscoe, Ira Briscoe and his partner Rodney Matthews, Darrell Keith Briscoe and wife Sonya, Phillip Louis Briscoe, Joseph Briscoe and his wife Beverly, Claire Manning and her husband Trent; sisters; Myrtle Eaglin and Anna Mae Kelly. In addition she leaves nineteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be celebrated for Rosalie at noon Saturday June 21, 2014 at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church, a rosary service will be held at 11AM, and visitation will commence at 10AM. Burial to follow the mass in Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Cemetery in Ames. Condolences and memories can be left online at www.allisonfuneralservice.com.
