Benjamin Leon Baker Jr, age 74 of Houston passed away September 26, 2017 in Houston, TX.  Benjamin was born April 15, 1943 in Port Arthur, TX, son of the late Benjamin Leon Baker Sr and Hettie Jean Wiley Baker.  He graduated from Bridge City High School and then went on and attended college at Louisiana College Pineville in Pineville, LA and then the University of Houston where he obtained his bachelor’s degree in Chemical Dependency.  Benjamin worked as a chemical dependency counselor for many years.  He was a very family oriented person and loved his children and grandchildren.  As a Christian man, Benjamin loved to sing and had a beautiful voice.  He was a spiritual leader for his family and will be missed by all.

Benjamin was preceded in death by his parents.  He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of eighteen years; Judy Gilliland Baker, daughter; Melissa Baer and husband Ian, sons; Bryan Baker and wife Christi, William Baker, Fredrick McGuire Jr, brother; Michael Baker and wife Barbara, and grandchildren; Mason Baker, Emily Joanne Patrick and Kelly Anne Patrick.
