Blanchard Ray “Gil” Gilmore, age 71 of Liberty, TX passed away October 24, 2017 at his residence in Liberty.  Gil was born February 1, 1946 in Houston, TX son of the late Raymond and Delpha Russell Gilmore.  Gil was Vice President Credit Manager at Gordan’s Jewelers for 19 years, Finger Furniture Head of Credit Department, Barclays credit department, and bookkeeper for Golden’s Furniture.

God quietly took Gil Gilmore into his loving arms on the early morning of October 24, 2017.  Gil has gone to his home in heaven and is celebrating with his family and friends that had left before him.  He was a wonderful husband, good father, and a kind and caring man.  He coached his children in softball and baseball, guided them in life choices, and loved them all so much, He was a dedicated grandfather to all the grandchildren in their lives, sports, events and with their friends he was dedicated to being there for each one of them.  He loved children, going to the school and reading to the children when they were younger. As the children grew and were in high school they still came up to him when they saw him and would tell Papa Gil hello.  He was a big advocate for the helping of all children and so in his memory we do ask that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to Bridgehaven in Dayton TX.  He was a man who stood up for what he believed in and never thought one could stop learning.  During the time he was married to Nan his wife he had begun looking within himself and making the changes that he felt needed.  He stated many times we make mistakes, but they are not failures if we change and learn from them.  He was so loving... always giving and a kiss and saying I love you every night.  He will be missed tremendously... but as He stated.  I will be waiting for you and will see you again.

Gil was preceded in death by his parents, brothers:  Charles Raymond Gilmore, William Lee Gilmore Sr., sister; Delpha Marie Gilmore and wife Sharon Elizabeth Wisneski Gilmore.  He leaves behind to cherish his memory, wife Nan Regen Gilmore, children Michele Gilmore Stahl, Michael Gilmore and wife Karen Gilmore, Johanna Todd Sears, Julianne Todd Forse and husband Mathew Forse, Nancee Todd and wife Katrina Cantrell Todd. Grandchildren:  Cameron Stahl, Landon Gilliland, Connor Stahl, Jarrett McMillen, Kaleb Hutton, Kyle Hutton and Carter Gilmore.  Sister, Margaret Gilmore Kelso and husband Pete Kelso, and sister in law Gaynelle Gilmore. and Joe Taylor a very special member of all the family. And Numerous nieces and nephews.
