Cheryl Ann Runnels, age 61, of Dayton, Texas passed away Saturday, December 16, 2017. She was born on September 29, 1956 in Baytown, Texas to Raymond and Opal Wilkins.

Cheryl was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was the backbone of her family. Cheryl was a natural caregiver who loved to cook. She sprinkled all of her recipes with a little dash of love. Cheryl enjoyed working in the yard and watching Wheel-of-Fortune. She loved all animals but she had a special fondness for kittens and cats. She was an independent, no nonsense woman with a big heart. In her spare time, Cheryl loved playing penny slots at the casino. More often than not, she walked away a winner.

Cheryl cherished her role as Aunt and adored spending time with her nieces and nephews. She will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her father Raymond Wilkins; daughter Brandy Torgerson; brothers Jake Simmons and Gary Inman.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 33 years, Gerald Runnels; daughters Christie Lopez, Christal Jones, Renea Richardson and husband Bo; mother Opal Wilkins; sister Glenda Overbay and husband Richard; brothers Kenneth Inman, Terry Wilkins, Dennis Wilkins and wife Elaine; grandchildren Tyler Rowe, Destiny Wilkins, Sebastian Lopez, Porsche Tucker, Pantera Tucker, Trystian Jones, Logan Jones, Nicole Jones; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
