George Douglas Andrews

George Douglas Andrews, 66, of Liberty, Texas, and formerly of Arlington, Texas, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at his residence in Liberty. He was born on February 14, 1958, in Garland, Texas, to the late Leon Ealy and Mary Catherine Porter Andrews.

George was a simple and proud man, very much a homebody. He was known for his intelligence, organization, and passion for history, often taking online courses on the subject. George cared deeply for his family and enjoyed watching Westerns. In his younger years, he had a talent for making ceramics of all types, loved bowling, disco dancing, riding his motorcycle, and charming all the ladies. These were among the many interests that brought joy to his life.

George was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Mary Catherine Andrews; his siblings, Debbie Patty, Leon “Rocky” Andrews II, and James Andrews; his niece, Angel Smart; his nephew, T.J. James; and daughter, Tiffany Andrews.

He leaves behind his daughters, Stephanie Andrews of Oklahoma, and Haley Hanson and husband Casey of Wortham, Texas; his sisters, Nora James and husband Tom of Liberty, and Susan “Windy” Spears of Azle; several grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

A graveside service and committal will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at Cooke Memorial Cemetery in Liberty.
