Glen Edward Barnes, age 54 of Houston, formerly of Liberty, passed away February 4, 2017 at his residence in Houston.  Glen was born July 18, 1962 in Liberty, TX son of Billy Edward Barnes and Linda Block Barnes.  He graduated from Liberty High School in 1980.  Glen moved to Houston where he was a waiter in the restaurant business.  Glen was a member of the Liberty High School Choir and loved to sing.  He was also a talented artist and enjoyed drawing.

Glen was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents; I.F. and Cova Atkins, maternal grandparents; Herman and Velma Block.  He leaves behind to cherish his memory, father; Billy Edward Barnes of Woodville, TX, mother; Linda Claire Block Barnes of Liberty, TX, sisters; Lori Tidwell and husband David of Daisetta, TX, Tina Kibodeaux of Nome, TX, brother; Dale Barnes and wife Misty of Hardin, TX, nieces; Dawn Nugent, Tabitha Kibodeaux, nephews; John David Westbrook, David Kibodeaux, Daniel Barnes, Luke Barnes, and special family friend; Daniel Lee Miranda.

Services for Glen Edward Barnes will be Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 10am at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 North Travis, Liberty, TX with burial to follow at Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery in Liberty.  Visitation will be Friday, February 10, 2017 from 5pm to 8pm in the chapel of Allison’s.  Condolences can be sent online to www.allisonfuneralservice.com.
