Henry Lee Griffin- age 86 passed away Saturday February 25, 2017 in Houston, Texas. Henry was born January 25, 1931 in Hull, Texas the son of late Sterling E. Griffin and Agnes Banks Griffin. Henry enjoyed golfing, fishing, and anything outdoors. He was a graduate of Liberty High School class of 1949. After high school, Henry went on to attend Sam Houston State University. He was able to walk onto the football team at SHSU, it was then he received word he was going to drafted into the Army or Marines. Henry decided to enlist into the Air Force prior to being drafted. During his time in the service, Henry served in the 492Nd Bomron 7th Bomber Wing during the Korean War. After discharge from the service, Henry started his career as a Firefighter for Arlington Fire Department. After twenty-five years of service Henry retired as District Chief. He was preceded in death by his parents as well as his first wife Margie Nell Griffin, second wife Juanita Moore Griffin, brother Sterling Griffin, and a sister Alice Griffin. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his sons, Henry Lee Griffin Jr. and his wife Gleda, William Bruce Griffin, and Randall Clay Griffin. He also leaves his brother James Griffin and wife Mary Jane, and a sister Helen Griffin Swaney. In addition, Henry leaves numerous nieces, nephews, three grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Visitation for Henry will be held Wednesday March 1, 2017 from 6-9PM at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis Liberty, Texas.
