William Craig Ringer – age 54 passed away suddenly Thursday February 23, 2017 at his home. Craig was born May 2, 1962 in Clifton, Texas the son of William Jake Ringer and Patsy Larue Blassingame Ringer. Craig enjoyed fishing, attending LSU and Sam Houston State University football games, watching his son race his diesel truck, and to cook. Craig especially enjoyed cooking steaks for his family, friends, and his co-workers. He was a member of the Hardin Methodist Church and enjoyed singing in the choir. Craig joined Harden ISD in 1985, for the first ten years he taught Agriculture, served as Business Manager for eight years, interim Superintendent for two years, and finally as Superintendent for three years. In 1998 he joined the Board of Directors for Liberty County EMS, he went on to achieve his certification and licensure as an EMT and as a Critical Care Paramedic. He last worked for Liberty County EMS as the Assistant Director. During his time with EMS, Craig taught numerous classes on advanced emergency care. Craig also served as a paramedic on the Liberty County SWAT team and kept statistics for the Hardin High School Football team. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his father William Jake Ringer. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife of thirty years Paula Hollenshead Ringer, son William Chase Ringer, mother Patsy Ringer, and a sister Lisa Ringer. A visitation for Craig will be held Monday February 27, 2017 from 5-8PM at Hardin Methodist Church, 1005 Highway 834 W, Liberty, TX 77575. Funeral services to be held at 3PM Tuesday February 28, 2017 at the Church with burial to follow in Hardin Chapel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Craig’s memory to: Hardin Methodist Church Building Fund or to the Liberty County EMS Heart Monitor Program.
