Anna Belle (Norman) Pettay

Anna Belle Pettay, 89, of Liberty, Texas passed away peacefully at Magnolia Place Healthcare on December 17, 2018. She was born on July 11, 1929 in Brookline, Missouri to William Norman and Evelyn Young Norman.

Anna was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She liked to read, garden and write poetry. In her younger years, she enjoyed working cattle with her husband on their ranch. Anna was a licensed vocational nurse and spent most of her life caring for others. In her spare-time, she played Yahtzee and Scrabble with her family.

She was a strong, independent and witty woman with a great sense of humor. She loved babies, dogs and spending time with her grandchildren.

Anna loved God and her favorite scripture was the 23rd Psalm. She had a beautiful smile and a kind sensitive heart. It was because of that she will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Anna was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband Carl Leroy Pettay, Sr.; son Randal Wayne Pettay; and half-sister, Wilismae Grady. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, daughter Cheryl Ann Johnson and husband Johnny; son Carl Leroy Pettay, Jr., and wife Betty; and a sister Mayme Katherine Schoonover and husband Laverne. In addition she leaves behind ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Friends are invited to visit with family, Thursday, December 20, 2018 from 5pm – 8pm in the chapel of Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis Liberty, Texas 77575. Funeral services to be held 10am Friday, December 21, 2018 at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held 1pm Friday at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77038.
