Barbara Brown, 86, of Liberty, Texas, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, in Pasadena, Texas, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 16, 1937, in Liberty, Texas, the daughter of the late Alonzo “Lonzo” and Cecelia Crouthers Gott-Pittman. Barbara graduated from Hardin High School in Hardin, Texas, with the class of 1954. Throughout her career, she served as a secretary for the school and for Ward McCarty.
Barbara found joy in various activities, including buying plants, shopping, getting her nails done, cooking, and keeping up with the news. Above all, she adored spoiling her grandchildren with the finest snacks. Her favorite hobby was spending time with friends and family, especially her grandchildren, whom she adored unconditionally.
Barbara was preceded in death by her father, Alonzo Gott; her mother, Cecilia Gott-Pittman; her brother, James Gott; and her grandson, Sloane W. Jameson Zickefoose. Barbara leaves behind to cherish her loving memory her husband, William “Bill” Brown; her children, Bryan Zickefoose and wife Kimberly, Tracy Taylor and husband Skeet; her stepchildren, Lucas Brown, Jeremy Brown and wife Naomi, Ronnie Joe Brown, Bryan Brown and Chrissi Elender and husband Michael; and her numerous grandchildren: Jill Barnes and husband Shane, Chance Taylor and wife Zena, Lauren Lopez and husband Justin, Myles Taylor and wife Autumn, Brody Taylor, Madison Caruso and husband Jacob, Mason Garza, Kinlee Kahla, Weston Elender, Megan Brown, Tyler Brown, Ronnie Joe, Delana Brown, Cory Brown, Melissa Deppe, and Kristi Payne; her great-grandchildren Blakely and Baelon Barnes, Jordan Fort, Cooper, Porter and Talon Taylor, Keegan, Emma, Grace, Ava and Livi Lopez, Cash and Karsyn Caruso, Graci Jeans, Jace Smiley, Kendall Deppe, Rylie Joe, Bryleigh, Brixon Brown, and Jayda, Justice, Kamryn, and Kyrie Payne; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 11am to 1pm on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, in the chapel of Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis Street in Liberty. Barbara’s life will be celebrated at 1 PM at the funeral home, with Pastor Josh Hale officiating.
Barbara will be remembered fondly for her kindness, warmth, and dedication to her family. May she rest in peace.
