Barbara "Jean" Gray

Barbara Jean Gray, 87, of Liberty, Texas passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2020 at her home in Liberty, Texas. She was born on August 29, 1932 in Austin, Texas to parents Oliver Eugene Olson and Louise Bowles Olson who preceded her in death along with her beloved husband, Julius Leon Gray, Jr.; sister, Joan French; and grandson, Willie Ray Carnegie.

Jean was known to be a “home body” and an avid reader, she could almost always be found in her room reading one of the many books she collected. Mrs. Gray was also a fan of baseball and softball with the Houston Astros being her favorite professional team, but her real favorite was always any sport that her grandchildren played in which she was their #1 fan.

She is survived by her sister, Judy Fackler; children, Kathy Lee and husband Rodney, James Michael Gray, Melissa Ann Gray, and Kelly Eugene Gray and wife Michelle; grandchildren, Jammie Thedford and husand Toby, Kamie Ruth Carnegie, Jill Perkins and husband Robert, Jennifer McNew and husband Matt, Michael O’Neal Carnegie and wife Jessica, Clifton Leon Carnegie and wife Hailie, Jessy Lee, Baillie Gray, and Andie Johnson and husband Dylan; 11 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
