Bernadine Elizabeth (Cormier) Green

Bernadine Elizabeth Green age 88 – passed away Sunday December 23, 2018 at her home in Houston, Texas. Bernadine was born November 14, 1930 in Liberty, Texas the daughter of the late Melton Cormier and Bernice Stuart Cormier. Bernadine enjoyed shopping and sewing. She was a talented seamstress who made many of her own clothes. She also was a talented beautician working many of her sixty years at Pleasantville Beauty Salon. She was a great cook, in her earlier years she would volunteer to cook meals for the elderly. Bernadine was a member of Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church in Ames as well as a past member of the Unique Lady’s Social and Charity Club in Houston. She was preceded in death by her parents as well as a son Ronald Francis Green, and two sisters Gladys Melanson and Mary Laviene. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband of sixty-eight years William Green Jr. of Houston, daughter Denise McAfee of Ames, son Craig Green (Cheryl) of Houston, daughter Valerie Powers of Houston, and a brother Shedrick Cormier (Irma) of Houston. In addition, she also leaves her seven grandchildren: Anthony McAfee; Chelsey Green; William White; Adom Powers; Amani Powers; Imania Powers; and Michael Vincent Green. Bernadine will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her. A funeral mass will be celebrated 11AM Friday December 28, 2018 at Our Mother of Mercy Church in Ames. A rosary service to be celebrated at 10AM with visitation to begin at 9AM. Burial to take place in Ames Catholic Cemetery.
