Blanch Morse Mangum went to be with Jesus on March 21, 2018 at Magnolia Health Care in Liberty, TX. She was born on June 18, 1928 in Pelly, TX to Johnnie Rome and Bertie Moss Morse. Blanch was a wonderful wife to her husband, Elvy Leonard Mangum for seventy years. Blanch was a devoted wife, mother, sister, sister-in-law and friend. Blanch loved to quilt, cook and serve her community. She was a member of the Heights Baptist Church and the Rebekah Lodge of Liberty for many years. She held numerous offices and received the Decoration of Chilvalry. Blanch volunteered many years at Magnolia Health Care where she touched many lives. She loved spending time with all of her family and cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Blanch was preceded in death by her parents, husband; Elvy Mangum, children; Elvy Leonard Jr, Betty Ann and infant son, sisters; Willie Mae Jannise and husband Toby, Betty Jo Robinette and husband Floyd, Ethyl Morse, brothers; John Russell Morse, James Roland Morse and wife Lola Mae. Blanch leaves behind to cherish her memory, sons; George (Pokey) Mangum and wife Brenda, Wendell Mangum and wife Karen, grandchildren; Regina Moorman and husband John, Dallas Mangum and wife Julie, Anna Mallett and husband Preston, great-grandchildren; Matthew, Caroline, Luke, Clark, John Ryder, Laura and Audrey, sisters; Bernice LaFour, Lola Fregia and husband Weldon and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Honoring the family by serving as pallbearers are John Moorman, Dallas Mangum, Preston Mallett, Matthew Mangum, Luke Mangum, Clark Mangum and John Ryder Moorman. Honorary pallbearers are Bill O’Neal and Blanch’s numerous nephews.
