Bobby Alton Rawlinson, age 86 of Hardin went to be with the Lord on September 22, 2017. Bobby was born on April 11, 1931 to J. B. Rawlinson and Minnie Lee Rawlinson of Hardin. He graduated from Hardin High School in 1948.

Bobby served his country in the U.S. Army from 1952 to 1954 during the Korean War. Upon returning home, he worked in the oil field for a short time. He married Lola Fay Cantrell on December 18, 1959. Bobby farmed, raised cattle and in 1970, he and Lola built Rawlinson Meat Market and Slaughterhouse on Hwy 146. They remained in business until 1984. Always willing to try something new, he bought a one man saw mill in 1987 and cut all of the lumber used to construct their current home. The oak trees that create an alley that leads to their home were planted in 1978, long before the house was built.  Bobby continued his business interests along with his love of farming and ranching until the time of his death.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, J. B and Minnie Rawlinson; seven brothers - Jack Rawlinson, Clifford Rawlinson, J.B. Rawlinson Jr., Arlice Rawlinson, E.J. Rawlinson, Herman Rawlinson and John Rawlinson and one sister Opal Walters.

Bobby is survived by his wife of 57 years Lola Cantrell Rawlinson, his son Bart Rawlinson of Forestville, California and daughter Katie Russell, and husband Craig of Hardin. He has two grandsons - Jake Russell of New York, New York, his fiance' Katie Crumley of Brooklyn, New York and Luke Russell of Waco, Texas. He is also survived by two sisters, Margie Hanlon of Port Neches, Texas and Tommie Doucette and husband, Melvin of Old River, Texas, sister in law Linda Rawlinson of LaGrange, Texas as well as a host of nieces, nephews and wonderful friends.
