Carolyn Passed from this life at a care facility on Monday, July 8, 2019. Mrs. Bass was born on February 2, 1938 in Beaumont to Jack and Eloise Miller.

Carolyn was born and raised in Liberty and lived the majority of her life here. She was Baptist by faith. Mrs. Bass was a long time high school English teacher at Liberty High School. She enjoyed knitting and cross-stitching. During Carolyn’s time teaching she also turned her hobby into a second career and for several years she owned and operated a crafts store, “The Busy B Stitchery”. Carolyn was also a wonderful photographer. Mrs. Bass had her own dark room and did her own framing as well. She also had a love for all animals and she gave constantly to many different animal organizations.  Carolyn was an independent woman that made sure she lived life to the fullest.

Mrs. Bass was a shining beacon of love, hope, and grace. Her purpose in life was to care others and especially the ones she loved. She raised a couple of siblings while their mother was working long hours to provide. She raised a niece as her own daughter. She would drive 45 minutes to help care for her now grandchildren every day when they were younger. She was constantly giving her time to care for others without ever asking anything for herself. Carolyn was a sweet, kind, and gentle lady who will be missed dearly by all those who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Douglas Bass: her parents; and a sister, Linda Miller Lassiter.

Those left to honor and cherish her memory are her brother, Brooks Miller and wife, Diane; nieces, Jennifer Smith, and husband, Darren, Laura Silagy, and husband, Eric, Amy Waller and husband, Mark; Nephew, Craig Miller; as well as her great nieces and nephews, Maks, Austin, Hannah, Emily, Abigail, Trinity, and Faith.
