Donald Eugene Johnson

October 17, 1956 ~ June 6, 2017 (age 60) 60 Years Old

Donald Eugene Johnson, 60, of Baytown, Texas passed away peacefully, Tuesday, June 6, 2017. He was born October 17, 1956 in Houston, Texas to Howard Ace Johnson and Margaret Parlee Edwards.

Don was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend. He got his first job at twelve years old. He started his own cable business, worked for several years in construction and retired after a lengthy career as a truck driver. Don was a talented artist and had a wicked sense of humor. In his early years, he was a bull rider and had a scene in the movie Urban Cowboy. He had a love for music and enjoyed being with his family and friends. He cherished his role as uncle and adored spending time with his nieces and nephews.

Don loved God and talking about Jesus. He had many great adventures but he would tell you his greatest achievement was bringing his best friend of over 50 years Larry Durbin to know Christ. Don was a member of Day Spring Church in Liberty, Texas. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Don was preceded in death by his parents; his sister Judy Marie Johnson, his brothers George Michael “Mike” Collier and Roger Dale Johnson. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his sisters Barbara Stephens; Parlee “Penny” Shoemaker; Shirley L. Rife; Linda Kay Staples and husband Randy; his brother Bill Mack Johnson, and a host of other loving relatives and friends. Special acknowledgment to nephew Ronnie Wayne for his friendship, love and care.
