Juanita Kozina, 70, of Liberty, Texas passed away on Monday, March 15, 2021 at Liberty-Dayton Regional Hospital in Liberty. She was born in Houston, Texas to parents Francisco Zamarripa and Guadalupe Contreas Zamarripa.
For most of her life, Juanita was a caretaker. She enjoyed taking care of her family. She loved her children - especially her grandchildren. She was a true mama bear – fierce and protective. In her younger years, she enjoyed sewing and crocheting. She loved to watch “The Walking Dead” and play solitaire. She was a long standing member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Liberty. Her friends and family will cherish her memory forever.
Juanita was preceded in death in by her parents; brother Jesus Zamarripa; brother Jesse Zamarripa, sister Lucia Zamarripa and grandson Dredyn Kozina. She leaves behind her husband of forty-eight years Donald Kozina; son Martin Kozina and wife Jamie; daughter Alexandra Kozina; son Daniel Kozina and wife Amy; daughter Christine Kozina and fiancé Josh Shannon; brother Francisco Zamarripa and sister Beatrice Martinez; grandchildren Devon, Alexandar, Ava, Klementine and Lukas; and numerous other loving family members and friends.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 9-10AM at Immaculate Conception Church in Liberty. A funeral mass will being at 10AM.
