L. L."Zeke" Zbranek

L.L. “Zeke” Zbranek- age 91 – passed away November 19, 2019 at Liberty Dayton Regional Hospital. Zeke was born in Crosby, Texas November 16, 1928 the son of the late Ladislav L. Zbranek and Marie Pecka Zbranek. Zeke was a graduate of Hull Daisetta High School Class of 1946. After High School, Zeke joined the US Navy serving from 1946-1949. He worked for Missouri Pacific Railroad as a telegraph operator for eleven years. He went on to work for the next twenty-nine years for the US Postal Service in Hardin, where he retired as Postmaster. Zeke enjoyed going to Hull-Daisetta and Hardin Football Games and was an avid reader. He especially enjoyed reading about history. He was a loving husband, father, and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents as well as a daughter Peggy Marie Zbranek, and his two brothers J.C. Zbranek and M.J. Zbranek. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his devoted wife of sixty-seven years Laverne Underwood Zbranek, his daughter Patti Lynne Berryhill and her husband Bill, son Thomas Edward Zbranek, and a grandson Brian Mitchell and his wife Megan. In addition, Zeke leaves six great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. A graveside service will be held 10AM Saturday November 23, 2019 at Hardin Chapel Cemetery. Allison Funeral Service 1101 N. Travis Liberty, Texas has been entrusted with the arrangements.
