Lameka will be very much missed by family, friends, and including defendants, I always called her a bulldog on a bone in court and you could not tell if see was defending a self pay defendant or a court appoint defendant. she helped so many people and always put 100 % into whatever she was doing, I will miss her and miss talking with her about something serious and important and I would state talking BS or go left in the conversation and she would say Anita I can't hear you any more. She was someone to me that I could tell anything didn't matter what it was and she would listen offer advise but never judge. She was such a great woman and had so much to offer the world, I now she is now being a brilliant attorney in a much higher court.

I was blessed to cross paths with Lameka while working on a CASA case. She was so devoted to each case and child. Lameka gave so much of her time, her total devotion was inspiring. She was a true advocate and held a deep passion for justice. Lameka Trahan will live forever in our hearts.

This all still seems surreal! I miss you my friend and sister so much more than you could ever believe! Our daily efforts to keep one another lifted and to solve the issues of the world together will live on in my heart forever. In so many ways I tried to be your ear and shoulder but in so many ways you were mine! We shared Bible study and lots of prayers so I know exactly where you are. Fly high dear Lameka for God knows you have earned those heavenly wings! I have already longed to pick up the phone to check on you and now I'm just trying to wrap my arms around the fact that my calls and texts will not be answered. My prayers go out to your family because I know you owned a large part of their hearts. You and Ray shared a love like none other and I know that you will continue to live on through him. I find comfort in knowing you are no longer suffering and can see the big beautiful smile on your face as you were reunited with your dad and precious Mechack. My heart is broken. I want you to know that I will continue my worldly fight so that I can meet you in Heaven someday so we can pick up that last phone conversation we started! I love you my sister!! To the family, may you find Gods peace in the coming days. Lean not unto our own understanding but in everything acknowledge God! He was just ready for His daughter to come home! We must just thank Him for lending her to us for a time!

I just want to say that i am thankful that i got to work for Lameka in a sort time period that i had with her. She was sweet and thoughtful when it came to her family and friends. Lameka was a fighter and never backed down from a fight. Her favorite saying to me was " Mariah it will work its self out you got this let keep it moving". By that saying i did i kept my self moving i did what she asked. I wish i would of got to know her more, i wish the best of wishes to her husband as well. she was a good lawyer a good teacher and a good role model for that i thank her. If it was not for her i would of never got this experience anywhere else.

This broke my heart to hear this. She was a wonderful sweet and kind soul. I never heard her say an ill-word against anyone nor did I ever hear her complain about her illness. Rest in peace sweet lady!
