Leopoldo Mendoza

Leopoldo Mendoza Suarez “Chachi,” 74 of Liberty, Texas passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2024, peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones. Leopoldo was born on August 19, 1949, in Casablanca, Mexico to parents Guillermo Mendoza and Juana Mendoza Suarez. He was the oldest of three boys.

Leopolda, to many known as “Chachi,” worked concrete for many years and took great joy in providing for his family. He was known by many for his humble heart and contagious smile. He made a huge impact on many lives, especially his grandkids. They will always remember “Wito” for his sweet loving spirit. His most cherished moments were spent surrounded by his beloved family. Wito loved to watch soccer games. His favorite team was “Chivas,” he enjoyed listening to music and mowing his grass. He will be greatly but left behind many wonderful memories that we will always have in our heart and cherish.

Leopoldo was preceded in death by his Parents, Juana Mendoza Suarez and Guillermo Suarez, his father-in-law Antonio Rubio, and beloved son Conception Mendoza. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife and best friend of over 50 years Maria del Carmen Mendoza and his beloved children Jose Mendoza and wife Mari, Jaime Mendoza, Jorge Mendoza, Sandra Garcia and husband Sandro, Maritza Rodriguez and husband Eduardo, Juana Hernandez and husband Polo, Griselda Watts and husband Joshua, Edith Gonzales, and husband Jose. His beloved nieces that he loved as his own, Juana and Ariana Rubio. In addition, he leaves behind numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Friends are invited to visit with the family 5PM-10PM on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, in the chapel at Allison Funeral Service. Rosary will begin at 7 PM. Funeral Mass will be held, Thursday, March 21, 2024, at 11 AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Liberty. Burial and committal will immediately follow at Liberty Catholic Cemetery.

Honoring the family as pallbearers are Jose Mendoza, Jaime Mendoza, Sandro Garcia, Eddie Rodriguez, Polo Hernandez, Jose Gonzalez, Edward Rodriguez, Javier Mendoza, Anthony Garcia, Julian Hernandez, and Noe Garcia. Honorary pallbearers Christian Mendoza, Angel Hernandez, Cesar Hernandez, Harrison Watts, Giovanni Salinas, Maximiliano Rubio, Sr. Julio Rubio, Junior Guzman, and Abidan Sanchez.
