Michael Barney Chambers, age 72 of Liberty, TX passed away May 19, 2017 at his residence with his loving family by his side. Mike was born January 4, 1945 in Pine Hill, TX, son of the late Bruce and Claudia Holder Chambers. He graduated from Liberty High School and attended college at Lee College and the University of Houston. Mike worked for forty plus years in the asphalt business and retired from Norman Asphalt. During his spare time, Mike enjoyed coaching Little League Baseball and playing golf. He was a baseball coach for many years and the children had the highest respect for him and was a true mentor to many children. Mike was an avid New York Yankee fan and enjoyed watching baseball. He loved his wife and family and everyone would say that he was kind, gentle and a very caring person. The community of Liberty has lost a beloved man. Mike was preceded in death by his grandparents; Barney and Emma Holder, parents; Bruce Chambers and Claudia Fatherree. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of fifty years; Sandra Land Chambers of Liberty, sons; Brad Chambers of Norman, OK, Chad Chambers and fiancée Julie Peterson of Arlington, TX, daughter; Tara Chambers Cooper and husband Eric of Clive, IA, brothers; Donald Louis Lotspeich, James Lynn Lotspeich and wife Kathy, Charles Robert Fatherree Jr, sisters; Patricia Jo Lotspeich Petty and husband Jack, Carla Jean Lotspeich-Keeler, Annette Fatherree Henscey and husband Pat, brothers-in-law; Charles Land and wife Edwina, Jerry Paul Land and wife Carolyn, grandchildren; Chaz Raggio, Colten Raggio, Brandee Rivera, Joe Henson, Jacob Chambers, Adrianna Chambers, Lexington Chambers, Josh Peterson, Jayden Peterson, four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
