Richard Randal Platt- age 73 passed away Tuesday July 17, 2018 at St. Luke Hospital in Houston. Richard was born October 18, 1944 in Minooka, Illinois the son of the late Walter Platt and Shirley Hibbard Platt. Richard moved to Seabrook, Texas in 1980, and later moved to his present home of Clark, Texas in 2008. Richard worked as a Millwright for twenty-five years for USI (DuPont) and later retired from Chevron. A veteran of the US Army Richard served in the 82nd Airborne during the Vietnam War. A true John Deere man he loved anything in John Deere green. He tended to his land and cattle for many years and driving his tractor was one of his favorite things to do. Richard was a member of the VFW Nolan D. Pickett Post #5621 where he served on the Honor Guard, Liberty Elks Lodge #2019, Texas Angus Association, Texas Cattleman Association, and Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his parents as well as a brother Larry Platt and an adopted daughter Janine Gauer. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of fifteen years Monica Larnad Platt of Clark, son Randy Platt and wife Tammy of Channahon, IL., daughters Paula Platt of Morris , IL., Laura Platt of Findley, OH., and Stefanie Platt of Clark. In addition he leaves his adopted daughters Debbie Lehew, Colleen Garner, Cindy Ramirez, and Trish Powers. He also leaves his step-daughter Jessica Castillo of Clear Lake, and a step son Abel Castillo of Deer Park. Richard also leaves numerous grandchildren: Cody Fisher; Taylor Kojder; Adam Platt; Macy Bowling; Aaron Platt; Anika Platt; Colt Schultz; Kyler Hall; step grandson Jacob Castillo; and numerous other family members and friends. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Visitation for Richard will be held Friday July 20, 2018 from 5-8PM at Allison Funeral Service, 1110 N. Travis Liberty, Texas. Funeral Services will be held 1PM Saturday July 21, 2018 at the funeral home with burial to follow in Cooke Memorial Cemetery.
