Robert Leo McManus

Robert Leo “Bobby” McManus, age 81, went to be with the Lord on September 22, 2019 at his home in Hardin, Texas. He was born on July 24, 1938 in Liberty to parents Robert Milam and Ruth Brashier McManus.

In his early days, he worked many years in the oil field for Ward McCarty. After his work in the oil field, he owned and operated Hardin Grocery for over 20 years. Bobby was affectionately known as Paw Willie. He enjoyed raising cattle, working in the hay field, and tending to their family farm. Paw Willie always saw the good in everybody. He was a true and good friend to many. Paw Willie loved his church, Line Camp Cowboy Church in Devers. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. He loved music especially when shared with the ones he loved on the back porch. Paw Willie loved nothing more than having people stop and listen to his old stories.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved late wife of fifty-seven years Joy Kay McManus; sister Nora King; brother John Bond; sister Francis Allen; sister Georgia McManus and sister Ila Shauberger. He leaves behind to cherish his memory daughter Brenda Fairchild and husband Chip; son Brent McManus and wife Jennifer; grandson Rob Jones and wife Amber; granddaughter Lacy Hughes and husband Justin; granddaughter Abby Jones; granddaughter Lexy McManus; great-granddaughters Hadley Laura Jones and Spencer Joy Jones.

Honoring the family by serving as pallbearers are Rob Jones, Chris Hagan, Bubba Taylor, Thad LeNormand, Jacob Taylor, Tinker Hewitt, Jim Finstrom and Lance Carr.

Friends are invited to visit with the family on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 from 5-8pm at Line Camp Cowboy Church, 711 East HWY 90 in Devers. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 10am at Line Camp Cowboy Church with Pastor Harland Strother officiating. A graveside service will immediately follow at Hardin Chapel Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Line Camp Cowboy Church in Bobby’s name.
