Ronald Newburn Leonard

Ronald Newburn Leonard- age 80 of Liberty, passed away Monday September 17, 2018 in Houston. Ronald was born in Lloyd Minister, Saskatchewan, Canada June 28, 1938 the son of the late Roy Leonard and Winnie Marling Leonard. Ronald loved to spend time at the beach, lobster dive, listening to music, and spending time with his loving family. In his earlier years he enjoyed playing hockey, racing his dirt bike, where he was Canadian Junior Champion, and all types of fast cars. He was the former owner and operator of Fisher Auto parts in Liberty for numerous years. He also was a member of the Liberty Elks Lodge. He was preceded in death by his parents as well as his step-sons Billy Wertz Jr. and Joey Wertz, and his three sisters Betty Anne Garrett, Patricia Ardell Key, and Alice Cox. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of nearly twenty –four years Linda R. Leonard, daughters Betty Anne Reeves and her husband John, Kimberly White and her husband Russell, step-daughters Christian Loftin and her husband Carlton, and Jennifer Tubbs and her husband Billy. In addition he leaves a brother Harold Leonard and his wife Marilyn, four grandchildren: Matt Tyler; Corey Tyler; Rebecca Rustin; Gage White; four step-grandchildren Kayla Mills; Spencer Wertz; Tyler Wertz; Austin Tucker; two great-grandchildren, and four step-great-grandchildren. In addition he leaves a host of nieces, nephews and dear friends. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral services for Ronald will be held 11AM Friday September 21, 2018 at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis Liberty, Texas.
