Tribute

Celebration of life for Tyler Alan Retchless, 20, of Liberty, will be held 10 AM Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at First United Methodist Church of Liberty.

Tyler passed from this life on Thursday, July 18, 2019. He was born May 15, 1999 to Mark Retchless and Lesa Griffin in Liberty.

Tyler lived most of his life in Liberty. He attended Liberty schools from kindergarten till his graduation from Liberty High School in 2018. Tyler loved all things art. No matter if it was drawing, painting, music, or poetry he could not get enough. He was always sketching something or writing the words to a new poem to express the things that he was feeling. He was a very deep and thoughtful young man. He had a lyrical soul and he was constantly searching for the best way to express who he truly was, as is such with most true artists. He was a wonderful creative writer who meticulously crafted anything he wrote. Learning was a bit of a challenge for Tyler but once he put his mind to something it was very evident that he was brilliant in many ways. He was an avid reader and loved to read anything he could get his hands on. Once he started reading there was no stopping him. Tyler loved animals and loved to learn about animals, any time there was something interesting on the Animal Planet Channel, the channel surfing ended immediately.

At the heart of it all Tyler was a kind, caring and loving young man. He was a great listener. All of his friends and family knew that he was always there to lend an ear and a shoulder to lean on. Tyler was very easy to talk to. He always understood and never judged. His greatest treasure in life was his family. He always enjoyed getting together with any part of his family. He always loved trips to Washington State to visit his grandparents. We will always remember the joy and love that he gave us. Tyler will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by an uncle, Eric Retchless; and a grandfather, Alejandro Moreno.

Those left to honor and cherish his memory are his mother, Lesa Griffin; father, Mark and wife, Sandra; sisters, Shannon Retchless, Marissa Gonzales; brother, Tyler Renfroe; grandparents, Donna and Alan Retchless, Frank and Tinya Griffin, Frances Moreno; uncles, Frank Griffin and wife, Lisa, Bill Griffin and wife, Cindy, Alex Moreno and wife, Estella, Rick Moreno, David Moreno; aunt, Mary Quinones and husband, David; cousins, Bethanie, Ryan, Mackenzie, and Carson, Jessica, Jonathan, Sabrina, Claudia; as well as many other dear family and friends.
