Violet “Vi” K. Huneycutt, 94, of Houston, Texas, peacefully passed away on Friday, March 1, 2024, in Liberty, Texas. She was born on August 23, 1929, in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, to the late Cole and Susan Pentecost Kinnaird. Vi led a life marked by grace, warmth, and dedication. She graduated from Arkadelphia High School with the class of 1947, laying the foundation for a life of learning and growth.

Vi dedicated many years to administrative accounting at Target Stores in Houston, where her diligence and commitment left a lasting impact. Beyond her professional achievements, she found solace and joy in the simple pleasures of gardening, birdwatching, traveling and the art of baking, where her talents flourished and brought delight to those around her.

Vi was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 66 years, Louis Huneycutt; and her sisters, Opal Kinnaird and Ola Mae Kinnaird; and her brothers, Zola Kinnaird, Willard Kinnaird, Vonnie Kinnaird and Roy Kinnaird. Vi leaves behind to cherish her loving memory, her devoted children, Danny Huneycutt, Susan Smith, and Tom Huneycutt, all of Houston, Texas; her grandchildren, Mike “Micky” Smith of Houston, Nicholas Huneycutt and his wife, Allyson, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Ashley Huneycutt of Chicago, Illinois, hold dear the precious moments shared with their beloved grandmother.

In Vi’s passing, her family and friends mourn the loss of a kind-hearted soul whose love and wisdom touched countless lives. May Violet’s gentle spirit find eternal peace, may her memory bless all and her legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering strength continue to resonate in the hearts of all who knew her.
