Walter Schwarze, 81, of Port Neches, Texas passed away, Saturday, August 12, 2017 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 31, 1936 in Giddings, Texas to Adolph Schwarze and Lydia Niemeyer Schwarze.

Walter was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He enjoyed working in his garden and mowing the grass. He was a generous man who loved to be of service to others. Often times, he mowed his neighbors’ yards when they were busy or unable. He loved to hunt and spend time outdoors. In his spare time, he loved to watch the Astros.

He was a hard worker and retired after a lengthy career as a delivery truck driver. He enjoyed spending time with his family. Walter cherished his role as grandfather and great-grandfather. He adored his children. Walter made everyone who knew him feel special and he put a smile on their face. His sweet, compassionate soul will forever be remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Walter was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers Ervin Schwarze, Adolph Schwarze, Johnnie Schwarze; his sisters Betty White, Dorothy Schubert, Emma Jean Maass, and Lucy Tucker. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of sixty years, Joann Whittington Schwarze, daughters Debbie Mazzu and her husband Darren, Pam Lancaster; four grandchildren Darrik Reynolds and his wife Jennifer, Kadie Dornak and her husband Seth, Hannah Rollins and her husband Joshua, Danielle Mazzu; and three great-grandchildren Dylan Reynolds, Jacob Reynolds and Henry Rollins.

Honoring the family by serving as pall-bearers are Darrik Reynolds, Seth Dornak, Christopher Schwarze, Mike Schwarze Jr., Jerry Lancaster and Jake LeMoine. Brother David Cross will be officiating. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 5pm to 8pm on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 in the chapel of Allison Funeral Service, 1101 North Travis Liberty, Texas 77575. Funeral services will be held at 10am on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at Allison Funeral Service. A graveside service will immediately follow at Whittington Cemetery in Devers, Texas.
