James Truman Russell – age 79 of Devers passed away Sunday February 11, 2018 at his home. James was born February 3, 1939 the son of the late Jessie James Russell and Naomi Elizabeth McFarland Russell. James enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family and friends. James joined the US Navy at the age of eighteen and served honorably for three years. He worked on dairy, framed houses, machined at Brown Oil Tool, was the maintenance supervisor at Reynolds Aluminum, and was the owner and operator of Devers Machine Works; he was a true perfectionist in his craft. James was preceded in death by his parents as well as his first wife Ola Lorraine Dubose and a great-grand daughter Maggie Rose DeSha. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife JoAnn Russell, sister Joyce Mitchell, daughter Connie DeSha and husband David, son Rodney Russell and wife Vicky, grandchildren; Bradley DeSha wife Emily, Dustin DeSha, Weston, Reagan, and Analise Russell. In addition he leaves his step-son Russell Birkner and wife Kim, step-daughter Amy Gunter and husband David, step-daughter Beth Birkner, and his step-grandchildren Jason Birkner and wife Kenzi, Trevor and wife Paige, and Rachel Gunter. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Visitation for James will be held Tuesday February 13, 2018 from 5-8PM at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis Liberty, Texas.
