Krystal Kay Renfrow was born on June 5, 1958 in Liberty, Texas.  She went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on March 18, 2017, following a brief illness. Krystal was a strong believer in Jesus, and an active church member all her life.  She trusted Christ at an early age and was baptized at First Baptist Church in Liberty, Texas where she was active in many church activities, particularly the youth group and choir as a teenager. She was a faithful church attender, and many of her friends may remember that she was known to phone those who had missed church or a special activity to inquire as to why they had not been in attendance. She cared deeply about her friends and family, and desired that they be faithful in their church attendance.  She had many special memories of attending summer camp at Glorietta Baptist Encampment in New Mexico, and went on numerous youth choir trips with her church choir traveling across Texas participating in choir concerts at various churches.  The Lord gifted her with a beautiful singing voice, and she had the incredible ability to sing with perfect pitch, which is extremely rare. She loved singing praises to her Lord, and being part of her church choir.

She went on numerous trips with the GA’s (Girls Auxillary) to Houston to the state summer conventions. First Baptist Church, GA’s, choir and church attendance were important parts of her life, and her faithfulness was legendary. She loved quoting just the right Bible verse when a friend was in need of encouragement or guidance, and her favorite passage was Psalm 23.

Krystal loved to travel, and one of her favorite trips was to the country of Austria.  She also enjoyed visiting her cousin Mindy in North Carolina, and taking long weekend trips to visit in the homes of family and friends.  She graduated from Liberty High School in 1976, and was a member of the high school choir, the Choraleer Choir and the Spanish Club. One of her favorite pass times was doing counted cross stitch, and she loved making special cross stitch pieces as gifts for friends and family. Friendship and giving were important to this very loving person. She loved listening to the Maranantha Choir and The Carpenters.  Some of her friends’ favorite memories of her were their late night runs to the Sonic in Liberty in Krystal’s 1976 red Firebird singing with the radio turned up very loudly!

Krystal attended Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, and loved going to school there in that beautiful East Texas town.

Krystal was preceded in death by her parents, Aubry Renfrow, and Kathryn Renfrow of Liberty, her cousin Micah Felcman, Aunt and Uncle Jewel and John Bailey of Liberty.  She is survived by her brother, Britt Andress of Dayton, Texas, and her cousin, Mindy Felcman Miralia, as well as, River and Miles Felcman all of Charlotte North Carolina.

Krystal also considered the following close friends as part of her family:  The Darrell Budro Family, Randy and Frances Lewis Family, the Tommy Roberts Family, Mrs. Juanita Mosley, and Miss. Janet Mosley Hughen, as well as many of her church family members and neighbors. She was a friend’s friend, and a loving and caring person who will be deeply missed and remembered fondly for years to come.

At the time of her death Krystal was a member of Corner Stone Church in San Antonio, Texas, and was employed at John Hagee Ministries. A fitting tribute to her would be the verse that says “a friend loveth at all times.”  Krystal was that kind of friend. We can all rest assured that she is singing with the angels in the heavenly choir, and free from the worries and trials of this earthly world. May she rest in peace.
