Ray Herschell Ferguson, age 87, of Liberty, Texas died Wednesday, May 17, 2017. Born August 6, 1929 in Bayou Chicot, Louisiana, he was the son of the late Ray M. Ferguson and Evelyn Soileau Ferguson. Ray was a member of the United States AirForce and Army. He served his country in the Korean war and was awarded the Purple Heart. Ray retired as a Journeymen/Electrician after a lengthy career with Liberty Electric. Ray loved music and playing his guitar. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting and running trot lines. More than anything, Ray loved his family and was happiest getting together for crawfish boils and fish fries.

Ray is preceded in death by his sons Gerald R. Kent; Ray B. Ferguson and his brothers and sisters Clyde; Donald; Amy; Bobbie; Joyce, his son-in-law, William Touchet and his great-grandson, Connor Touchet.

Ray is survived by his wife, Lillie Ruth (Barnhart) Ferguson; daughters Kelli F. Baucum (Daniel); Elaine Touchet; son, Joe Kent; brother, Clayton Ferguson (Donna), twelve Grandchildren; twenty-seven Great Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. 

The family will greet friends from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Monday, May 22, 2017 at Allison Funeral Services. 1101 North Travis Street Liberty, Texas 77575.
