October 10, 1936 ~ April 16, 2014 (age 77) 77 Years Old
Adam Curtis Arceneaux age 77 passed away April 16, 2014 in Liberty. Adam was born in Ames, Texas October 10, 1936, the son of the late Willie Arceneaux and Vester Guidry Arceneaux.  Upon graduating from High School, Adam enlisted in the U.S. Army. His assignment was Intelligence, completing tours in Vietnam and Korea. In 1979 he retired after serving for twenty-three years. He worked until 1996 with the U.S. Postal Service; National Pipe and Tube; Chevron Chemical, and various municipal offices. He was a faithful member of Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church in Ames, Texas where he served as an usher for over thirty years. Adam had a great affinity for children. He spent many hours with neighborhood kids, teaching them to count with dominos and cards, or over -seeing mud-pie creations and volleyball matches.  He organized several softball teams within the community. Adam was also a proud H.O.S.T. Reading Program volunteer at Liberty Elementary School. The friendly farmer, known to many as “Vegetable Man”, supplied the community with fresh vegetables for years, and would put anyone to work who came along during planting time. He was passionate about history trivia, and left many memories in the form of his unique and colorful stories. He collected vintage records, brass “what-nots”, model antique cars, and baseball caps. Let’s not forget his beautiful roses.
Adam will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents as well as his sisters, Annie Lee Hollimon and Bernice White and two brothers Willie Arceneaux Jr. and Earl Arceneaux.  He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of twenty-one years Valencia Arceneaux, his six children, Jon Adrian Arceneaux, Chinita Arceneaux, Anita Donatto, Victor Donatto, Danielle Donatto, and Nicole Donatto Natt;  brother Fredrick Arceneaux and wife Ida Mae, sisters;  Josephine Bernard and Mary Elouise Walker and husband Lloyd.
