Betty Neely Weems, age 79 of Liberty, passed away March 26, 2017 at her residence in Liberty, TX.  Betty was born April 30, 1937 in Mer Rouge, LA, daughter of the late John Leverett Cheshire and Ruby Elizabeth Neely.  Betty attended Bastrop High School in Louisiana her first three years of high school and then graduated from Silsbee High School here in Texas.  She was a drum major and twirler and was voted Most Beautiful four years in a row at her high school.  Betty was a beautician for fifteen plus years.  She enjoyed cooking, fishing and being at the beach.  She was an excellent seamstress and loved anything to do with the church.  She was also in the choir and loved to sing.  Betty’s most treasured memories were spending time with her family and grandchildren.  She will be missed by all.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, husband; Buddy Weems, brother; Albert Jack Wilson Jr, great-grandson; Tyler McCann and great-granddaughter; Lily Moss.  She leaves behind to cherish her memory, daughters; Gwen Weems of Liberty, Debbie Sherrell and husband Jaime of Liberty, Angela Battle and husband Harold of Silsbee, Denise Walters and husband Leigh of Liberty, brother; Archie Jack Wilson and wife Carol of Pearland, TX, twelve grandchildren, thirty-six great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
