Robert “Bobby” Hugh Kersh- age 71 passed from this life after a short illness in Houston, Friday February 24, 2017. Bobby was born August 10, 1945 in Liberty, Texas the son of Gordon Kersh and Rachel Koen Kersh. Bobby spent his entire life living in Hardin, Texas. Even though driving to Houston each and every day to work and provide for his family, he chose to do so to be with the people and country life he grew up with.  He worked as an electrician with McDonald Electric, in Houston, spending many years with them. He worked out of Local Union 716. Bobby graduated from Hardin High School in 1964. He loved his classmates and continued to have get togethers so they could all reminisce about their simple, but good times. Bobby did not have many hobbies to speak of, but he enjoyed woodworking and remodeling his children’s home when he was able. He and his wife traveled as much as they could, they enjoyed taking cruises, trips to San Francisco, Branson, MO., Pigeon Forge, TN., and more. He liked to watch westerns and NASCAR on television. In high school sports was his first love. Basketball and football were a big enjoyment for him. Above all he loved planning his days around meals. He enjoyed having meals in or out, it did not matter. Bobby was preceded in death by his father Gordon Kersh as well as a sister Beth Russell. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of forty-five years Glenda Peace Kersh of Hardin, mother Rachel Koen Kersh, son Robert Kersh and wife Christina of Hardin, daughter Amanda Kersh Key and husband Josh of Liberty, his grandchildren Travis Kersh and Taylor Kersh both of Hardin, and his father-in-law Floyd Peace. In addition, he leaves numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. Bobby did have several special friends, but one we would like to recognize is Julio Vasquez. Julio apprenticed under Bobby and eventually became a journeyman. They both subcontracted to Southwestern Bell doing switch gear work and installing huge breakers, as well as control work.
